If you want to improve your language skills, you need a lot of so-called comprehensible input. Choose something you’re interested in. If you like reading and stories, our short stories are a great way to enhance your vocabulary in a fun and brain-friendly way. Choose a story that is neither too easy nor too difficult for you. If it’s too easy, you won’t learn anything new (but it might be a good solution if you’re currently just in ‘maintenance mode’). If it’s too difficult, it’s stressful and you’ll become frustrated. Our short stories are suitable for students who have at least an A1.2 level of German and no more than B2. If your German is already advanced C1/C2, it’s time for you to tackle real literature. Our website targets mainly beginner and intermediate students but we do publish recommendations for books written for and by native speakers once in a while, like our articles about ‘Regionalkrimis’  or ‘Historische Romane’.
