Karina hat eine Mission - Ein neues Buch entsteht

Es ist ein halbes Jahr her, seit “Johns deutsche Familie” veröffentlicht wurde. Eigentlich war so eine lange Pause bis zum nächsten Buch nicht geplant. Ich hatte verschiedene Ideen, konnte mich aber lange nicht entscheiden. Ich habe angefangen zu schreiben und dann wieder aufgehört. Jetzt bin ich aber endlich im Workflow. Bei meinen ersten sieben Büchern habe ich dir einfach das Ergebnis präsentiert. Diesmal wird es anders. Ich erzähle dir jetzt schon, worum es in dem neuen Buch geht und wenn dir die Geschichte gefällt und sie deinem Niveau entspricht, hast du Möglichkeit, dich in einer speziellen Liste eintragen zu lassen. Dazu später mehr.
Für wen ist das neue Buch?
“Karina hat eine Mission” ist für fortgeschrittene Anfänger (A2), kann aber auch gut von B1-Schülern gelesen werden. Es wird als Ebook (Kindle), Taschenbuch und PDF-Version erhältlich sein.
Warum geht es?
Die Hauptperson ist Karina, eine junge Frau aus München. Ihre Eltern kommen bei einem Verkehrsunfall ums Leben und sie entdeckt die Geburtsurkunde eines jungen Mannes namens Benjamin, der 1989 in der ostdeutschen Stadt Wismar geboren wurde. Karinas Vater stammt aus Wismar und laut Geburtsurkunde ist er auch Benjamins Vater. Aber Karinas Eltern haben nie erwähnt, dass sie einen Halbbruder hat. Karina weiß, dass ihr Vater nur wenige Wochen nach dem Mauerfall nach München gezogen ist und nie wieder in Ostdeutschland war. Sie beschließt, nach Wismar zu fahren und Benjamin zu suchen. Das stellt sich jedoch als nicht so einfach heraus. Ihre Suche führt Karina in verschiedene Städte und sie lernt interessante Menschen kennen.
Wie ist das Buch aufgebaut?
“Karina hat eine Mission” besteht aus eher kurzen Kapiteln (ca 300-500 Wörter), die jeweils von Verständnisfragen, Sprachübungen sowie Informationen zu Kultur und Sprache begleitet werden. Beim Lesen lernst du Ostdeutschland, seine Geschichte und die Unterschiede zwischen dem Osten und dem Westen von Deutschland ein wenig kennen.
Wie entstand die Idee für das Buch?
Vor einigen Monaten habe ich eine Dokumentation namens “Die verlassenen Kinder der DDR” gesehen. Nach dem Fall der Mauer 1989 wurden Hunderte von Kindern einfach in den Wohnungen zurückgelassen oder im Kinderheim abgegeben und ihre Eltern gingen nach Westdeutschland, um sich dort eine neues Leben aufzubauen. Das hatte ich vorher nicht gewusst und es hat mich total schockiert. In meinem Buch geht “nur” der Vater weg, aber auch das ist schlimm genug.
Wie ist das jetzt mit dieser Liste, um das Buch schon vor Veröffentlichung zu lesen?
Interessiert dich das Buch und du möchtest entweder als erste wissen, wann es erhältlich ist oder es eventuell sogar schon vor der Veröffentlichung lesen? Ich suche einige Probeleser, die Zeit und Lust haben, das Buch etwa zwei Wochen vor der Veröffentlichung zumindest teilweise zu lesen und eine Bewertung zu schreiben. Das geht übrigens auch, wenn dein Niveau schon B1 oder sogar B2 ist oder du Deutsch unterrichtest. It’s been half a year since “John’s German Family” was published. Actually, such a long break until the next book was not planned. I had different ideas, but couldn’t decide for a long time. I started writing and then stopped. But now I’m finally in the workflow. With my first seven books, I simply presented the result to you. This time it will be different. I’ll tell you now what the new book is about and if you like the story and it’s up to your level, you have the opportunity to put yourself on a special list. More on that later.
Who is the new book for?
“Karina hat eine Mission” is for advanced beginners (A2), but can also be read by B1 students. It will be available as an ebook (Kindle), paperback and as a PDF version.
What is it about?
The main character is Karina, a young woman from Munich. Her parents are killed in a traffic accident and she discovers the birth certificate of a young man named Benjamin, who was born in 1989 in the east German city of Wismar. Karina’s father comes from Wismar and according to the birth certificate, he is also Benjamin’s father. But Karina’s parents never mentioned that she has a half-brother. Karina knows that her father moved to Munich just a few weeks after the Wall came down and never went back to East Germany. She decides to go to Wismar and look for Benjamin. However, this turns out not to be so easy. Her search takes Karina to different cities and she meets interesting people.
How is the book structured?
“Karina hat eine Mission” consists of rather short chapters (about 300-500 words), each of which is accompanied by comprehension questions, language exercises and information about the culture and how to use the language. While reading you will get to know East Germany, its history and the differences between East and West Germany.
How did the idea for the book come about?
A few months ago, I saw a documentary called “The Abandoned Children of the GDR”. After the fall of the Wall in 1989, hundreds of children were simply left in their homes or handed over to children’s homes and their parents went to West Germany to start a new life there. I hadn’t known that before and it totally shocked me. In my book “only” the father goes away, but that’s bad enough.
So how about that list to read the book before it's published?
